If you do a 'search' for 'cantley+familytree' there are 38 hit on this website...

and if you do a Google search there are several more familytrees . this gives the best option.

    Good hunting

    Cantley Surname

My earliest ancestor that came to the US from Scotland was Alexander Cantley (Cantlie) s/o Sean Cantley. Alexander was born ca. 1688 and arrived in the New World (Jamica) ca. 1730 as a bond servant. What happens in the next few years is not documented but by 1736 he is in the US proper with a son, John, being born in that year. The information I have been able to obtain from Ancestry.com states that he arrived in Jamica ca. 1730 at the age of 42. He was a carpenter and joiner and departed Scotland from the town of Mantross (Montrose?). Serving a bond servitude of 4 years.

If anyone has any info on this family that they would be willing to share plese contact me at this site.

    Thank you
