I confess to getting irritated with web browsers these days. I thought there were standards that each should apply so that we can just browse the web.
I find that something viewed in IE seems fine but when viewed with Firefox or Chrome the page doesn't display correctly.
Recently Steve added an option to our Community and I couldn't click on the link. I was using Chrome and so I switched to IE and the link worked just fine.

To follow up with the Scottish Business post I felt a specific thread might be useful to discuss Scottish Travel and Tourism.
I was speaking with Euan Colville about marketing Scotland and he was saying his hands were tied as he is usually given money to be spent in a particular way. It seems to me that it is pointless to hire someone in that capacity and not let them decide the best way forward for Scottish Tourism.
I would have liked to ask him who these people
I thought it might be interesting to focus on Scottish Business to see if there is anything we might do to help promote them.
My problem is that I have not been able to really discuss things to see how I might help. For example Jim Mather MSP provided email addresses for the top people in Scotland to do with business and enterprise.
I emailed everyone but only got a reply from the Scottish Chamber of Commerce. I replied to that one but never got a reply back. I
The news today is dominated with the G20 summit in Toronto. As seems usual these days there are massive protests and it's clear a hard and significant core of these protesters just want to make trouble.
I was told the security arrangements for this summit will cost over $1 billion.
I think it's time that they held these summits in very remote locations and probably ones that are only accessible by Helicopter. The far north of Canada or Alaska seem to be good places
A little while ago the Google chairman was critical of European web sites in that he thought they were mostly brochure sites.
While most Scottish businesses have their own web sites they don't seem to do much with them.
Electric Scotland is a huge site for people to learn about Scottish history and yet no Scottish business has ever sent us in an article.
It really makes you wonder if having your own web site is just an excuse to not doing anything else
