    Re: Posting photos

I was wondering what I was doing wrong. Now I know I'm not. The baby is my great grandson Ranald. He's 3 months old now.

How do I add new pictures to my album? I don't usually have problems following instructions but I can't find any. The only selections I can see is "Add new album".

Re: Where do the years go?

Gosh Alastair, is it that long? My mother used to say that the older you get, the faster time seems to go.

    Where do the years go?

I can't believe that my eldest grandson is turning 21 in 2 weeks time. He is the one who made me a great grandmother 2 months ago. Those who are in facebook can see the pictures of Noah. He is...

    Re: Black Pudding

I love the black pudding you get in Scotland but the one you get in Australia is crappy, lumps of fat in it. The Scottish one is much finer ground or something. Tastes better anyway

I was going to comment that I've never seen McMillan spelled like that before.

    Re: Alastair

It was new car warranty I was talking about Euan. The dealer here adds on his own warranty free of charge. I wouldn't BUY an extended warranty on a used car or any appliance for that matter.

Re: Travelling by car in Canada

I used to enjoy driving but not anymore. Must be getting old because I find that my night vision isn't what it used to be. I'm OK in places with street lights but I wont drive on the...

    Re: Alastair

I guess it must be the dealer here. They have been operating for over 70 years by the same family and if you want to book your car in for a service it's usually a 7/10 day wait. They must be doing...

    Re: Alastair

I haven't found that Euan but maybe it's the dealer here......they have a very good reputation. When my last Hyundai was getting near the end of warranty, they did an end of warranty check and fixed...

Alastair, did you tell me that Kia has a 7 year warranty in Canada? I ask because they have just started advertising here that all new cars will have a 7 year warranty. Until now it's been 5 years....

    Re: Scottish Accent

Some years ago my husband and I were at a dinner function and I got sat next to a man I didn't know. He was having a conversation with a lady across the table to which I was listening for a few...

I'd forgotten that about the poultry industry. We used to have chicken for our Xmas dinner when I was a kid. It wasn't a meal you'd have weekly.

    Re: Scottish Accent

You're right Sandy. Also a lot of the old words have fallen out of use with the younger ones today, although they still know the meanings.

PS I've got a tape of that Andy Stewart song too.
  23. Re: E-books making Britain a nation of bookworms, From The Scotsman

I'm making up for when my kids were young and I didn't have time to read. I've always been an avid reader. I used to get so engrossed when I was a kid that my Dad would clip me gently on the ear to...
  24. Re: Business does not always need to be in a large town

Also fish farming has brought the food produced with the budget of the average person. I remember in Scotland when salmon was just too expensive for an average wage earner to buy. I don't think I...
  25. Re: E-books making Britain a nation of bookworms, From The Scotsman

I love my e-reader. My having one makes no difference whatsoever to paper book sales as I never bought them anyway. Reason being that I read too many to afford to buy apart from the fact that once...
