    Lizzie.........

Ain't nature wonderful........We get get a lot of cockatoos [black/yellow tailed] feeding on a very large Banksia tree in our backyard, sometimes there are as many as 20 feeding...

I do not have any of my on photographs [no camera] but here are similar items from the 'web'

also have a family of these cute little bandicoots that wander around now and again.............I don't care about holes in the yard..........that's what nature is all about.

    Re: CAME BY FOR LUNCH

    Hello Gordon and Diane:

My yard has become quite the sanctuary. I built a six foot fence around my vegetable garden. It not only keeps the produce safe but is a perfect spot for bird feeders. I don't have any quite as exotic as yours, Gordon, but it is a real treat to train my binoculars on the young when they emerge from nests, flapping their wings ten to the dozen and squawking their heads off for more food from their frenzied parents.
And, it is a great pleasure to see deer grazing on the grass or lying placidly chewing their cud. Did I say grass!! I think they are attracted by all the delicious weeds and the fact I don't fertilize. Heck, it all looks green. When Charlie was alive, I would open the back door to let him out. The deer never budged. They knew they were safe, he was trained not to disturb them.
Being raised in the country has reinforced my contention the simplest pleasures are the most pleasurable!
