  • Well, this is one way to go !

In September 2011, a very good friend was driving me to Fife, and approaching a roundabout near Falkirk we could not believe our eyes.

It it? No it cant be!.......... by gosh it is !

We have never seen a hearse like this before.

It's not the cough, it's the coffin they carry you off in.....

Hey, Ranald....wonder if the "person" in the casket was shorter than the normal person? Can you share any more about the article??? Joan PS: just re-read your post, for some reason, I thought you'd read an article???

Could be on the way to a "Pet Cemetery" ; or just 'sound proof' transportation for wife/mother-in-law.

Just had another thought.................... maybe, just maybe, it is used by magicians' who have yet to master the "Saw the Girl- in-Half" trick.

        Motorcycle Funerals in Scotland

" Glasgow born and bred Paul Sinclair founded Motorcycle Funerals Limited, the UK's first professional motorcycle hearse service in 2002. After Paul served his time as a Sheet Iron Worker at the world famous ship yards of the River Clyde he went on to become a church minister and served families at funerals for no less than 25 years. His wife Marian has also served as a bereavement counsellor and sung at many funeral services. Paul and Marian believe funerals should reflect people's lifestyles. "No one places a football fan in a tennis strip when they die so why should a motorcycle enthusiast be last seen in an automobile?" To provide a dignified solution he launched Motorcycle Funerals Limited.

Today, anywhere in Scotland, we will provide you with a unique hire service. Whether you are part of a non-religious or religious community we will provide you with the most professional, thrilling and coveted motorcycle hearse in the world. Our sensitive and professional rider will ensure you see an immaculately turned out vehicle that you will be proud of, an authentic motorcycle that has been individually engineered, rigorously tested to UK funeral profession standards and certified by DVLA as a 'hearse.'

          Thanks for the link Gordon.

To think the firm is based in Larbert, which as you know is adjacent to Falkirk, and I had never come across them before !
