Just to give some background on this song, first it's one of my favorites, love to sing along with it. Also I've been to Harlan, Kentucky. It's way back & it's a very poor town. It has about three or four pawn shops within a few blocks. I've always had a feeling within, that I have roots in Appalachia. When we got there, there was a big semi truck, & people were lined up to get what looked like bags of groceries from the back of the truck. Another thing I noticed about this town, is that there were several stores that "rented" wedding gowns & tuxedos, for weddings. Had never seen shops that did the gowns as above. It's on the map of KY, in the USA. Love the song. Joan PS: this was from the Transatlantic Sessions!
