  • Of Wood, Glass, and Earthy Things

Musical instrument of wood, the ocarina. Dad would have enjoyed this, I'm sure he never saw one, and this is new to me. Dad loved to play the harmonica.

Did I tell you about the oil well being drilled across the street. What a mess this will be and, no doubt, will ruin our water well. That tears me up. However, someone was telling the state is going to shut down people's water wells. Have you heard that? Rod is going to keep testing our well for changes. They drilled a well by Mother restaurant once and it ruined her wonderful drinking water, consequently her business.

The girl on the end of the street works with the non-polluting cleaning products. They are selling out, and probably already have a buyer. She is super allergic to oil by products.

Maybe I should sell, but where would I go around here for a non-polluted enviornment. It is just a matter of levels of pollution.

Nothing much different going on here. I've been desperately cleaning closets and areas just to have people all of a sudden bring me stuff. I should be grateful but sometimes I'm just overwhelmed. An old friend brought me some very nice p.j.s he has outgrown and they do fit Rod perfectly. They are just like new, and a bunch of them. Tomorrow I'll have to go through that stuff again. :(

Another friend down the street brought his too small shirts. They are expensive and Rod can wear them, too.
I washed them but have to go through the pile again.

Still trying to stay at the crafts but I must adjust the tension on my machine and hate doing that so have been working with stringing beads to go on the small glass ceramic pieces we paint. Some of them are so special with the grandkids work on them (very abstract). <grin>

Tonight I worked with one of the small ones showing him how to strip bark off a cedar log, one Rod cut down this summer because it was dead. Some of my fingers are stained with that resin.
The boy is interested in wood, and I pointed him to the cedar.
My Dad loved to work with wood.

Similar to Dad's work only he used the yellow Bois D'arc roots.
