Cloud formations in the sky

I am always amazed, by the variations of clouds in the sky, and this evening was no different.

About 21:00 I lookedout of the kitchen (which faces north) and saw a cloud(s) with broken lines.

The attached photo, which I took, might give an idea of what I saw.
