    This will be the place to be when the V8 Supercars race there in 2013. [May 17-19]

    V8 Supercars will make history when they roar into Austin Texas, May 17-19, for a full Championship event and a first in Australian motorsport.

    The event at Circuit of the Americas promises to deliver spectacular racing action, with the newly engineered 5.5km circuit being compared to Australia’s ultimate race track at Mount Panorama.

    The three day event will feature motorsport action alongside an array of entertainment, plus Austin’s famed hospitality, world-class night life and spectacular scenery will make this an event not to be missed.

    2013 DatesThe event will be held 17-19 May 2013. It will be a traditional race weekend over a Friday, Saturday and Sunday.



    Creating HistoryIt is the first time any Australian motorsport category has competed in the United States. The agreement advances V8 Supercars’ international expansion.

    American AudienceV8 Supercars is a growing sport in America. Americans watch V8 Supercars on the SPEED™ network throughout South and North America. The American sporting press have taken to V8 Supercars as an action-packed, ultra-competitive form of motorsport.

    Circuit of The Americas will be a world-class destination for performance, entertainment, education and business. It will be the first purpose-built Grand Prix facility in the United States designed for any and all classes of racing, from motor power to human power, and be the U.S. home to the 2012 FORMULA 1 UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX™

    The Circuit of The Americas’ master plan features a variety of permanent structures designed for business, education, entertainment and race use. Its signature element will be a 3.4-mile circuit track.

    Other support buildings will include an expansive outdoor live music space, a conference centre, a banquet hall as well as a state-of-the-art medical facility. Future proposed amenities include a driving/riding experience, a motorsports driving club, kart track, grand plaza event centre and tower, and a trackside recreational vehicle park.     A Driver’s PerspectiveFord Performance Racing driver Mark Winterbottom sampled the Circuit of The Americas during its construction in June this year.

    “This is probably as close to Bathurst as any track I’ve seen, purely because of the angulation. You’ve got blind corners, you’ve got the length, you’ve got the speed, and I think this is going to build up to be a historic track for America as well,” Winterbottom said.

    “The circuit’s topography, including the dramatic changes in elevation, will make for some really fun racing and a great show for fans.”

      Formula 1 comes to America! - Red Bull Racing takes first lap in Texas


      Saddle up as the Red Bull Racing team and the F1 showcar gets chased by cowboys on the ranch and goes off-road onto the under-construction Circuit of the Americas track.
