  • Joyce an her wee Sparra

When requested, on Thursday by a neighbour to help, I did so.

On my return home composed the following which I sent to her.

    Joyce an her wee Sparra

When Lucky cam inta the hoose
I thocht she had brougten in a mooose
    Good gracious that's ubsurd
Lucky lays doon a wee sparra bird.

There's nae doubt it wasn deid
She really must be aff her heid.
The sparra's fleeing here an there
I'll hav tay tack some affie care.

I shut Lucky in ain room an Foxie in anither
I culd be daing wioot aaw the bother.
I call Ranald ta gie soom help
But he jist says gie Lucky a skelp.

We're on our knees wi torch an towel
It wid be easy if it wer an owl
    the bird is affy cannie
    Intae every nook and crannie.

But then wei doors open wide
We chase we sparra way outside
A me if it were richt ta race
Tae pit everythin back in place.

Sold fir a farthing in days of old
I wid hae settled wi a pot of gold

Lucky is a cat and Foxie is a papillion dog.
