  • Should an Independent Scotland be a member of the EU?

I thought I'd read a paper that shows why Scotland should not be a member of the EU and instead be a member of EFTA and the EEA.

The page that tells you about him is at http://www.electricscotland.com/hist...les/wilkie.htm

His papers aren't particularly noted as he was writing at the time on behalf of the SDA which he no longer works with. However his two main papers...

Scotland in Europe is at http://www.electricscotland.com/inde...ndinEurope.pdf
Scotland in the World is at http://www.electricscotland.com/inde...intheWorld.pdf

      Both are pdf files.

I seem to recollect that the SDA said they were not going to be running in any elections prior to independence. But I they appear to have a candidate running in the Aberdeen election just now.

The SDA have made some major changes recently in that a new chairman has been elected and the old guard have been chucked out. I am no longer at all interested in the new SDA. Mind you we do need an alternative to the old political parties.

PS I have added a report from the Bruges group where they make the case for the UK leaving the EU. You can get to this at http://www.electricscotland.com/inde...21EFTAorEU.pdf
