    Re: Enigma Machine #79

Hey, John...over here in the US of A, we call them railroad crossings! Think you had an "unfair" advantage on that one!!! Ha! And on the spelling of Louvre, it's the same as the French spelling! HO. We're not all that different at any rate. Also, Hugh...my thought on #9 is "cry uncle". Thanks, Joan

Sorry Joan, again no cigar. #9 is actually very straightforward and true to the illustration.

      Cheers,

      Hugh

I'll put in #3 "Not for love nor money". I suspect #9 may be "Tallow candle". - cheers, John.

          Right you are on both #3 & #9 John. That leaves #2, #4 &#5.

          Cheers,

          Hugh

#2 & #5 are typical pairs of items mixed up (joined by and or in) but #4 is a North American game.

            Cheers,

            Hugh

Thanks to your clue I think #4 may have finally dawned on me, Hugh - "Lacrosse". (It's popular here as well.) I'd say #2 could be "A lump in the throat" and #5 looks like "Salt and pepper". - Cheers, John.

Another brilliant effort John, right on all three and that finishes EM79.

                Cheers,

                Hugh
