  • Dylan Thomas: Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night....

    For some reason, I have been thinking about this poem. Most of Thomas' poetry I find kind of "delirious", but rather like this one. (Especially as it was written for his father.) Guess it has something to do with my own growing older! I do feel that Thomas was dissipated, & wasted most of his life, drinking & carousing....all different ways. Joan

    Thomas, like Brendan Behan, was embraced by the Americans, perhaps initially by their lifestyles as much as their talent. Behan had a niece who, after he died said that had he drank beer instead of the whisk(e)ys he would have lived much longer.
