So the old family crest lives on . We have the Book of Irving , a 10kg block of paper the size of the Stone of Scone . Someone kept old papers for many years as it refers back to Roman incursions into Irving lands in Strathclyde. The motto is "leaves fall in the wind" which is a very profound observation or else was copied in a hurry from some-one's Latin textbook to look official. Irving probably means "men from the west" , Eire, but who knows when they arrived?
