  • Bruny Island {Tasmania} Holiday.

We just returned last Tuesday from a lovely 3 night stay [in perfect luxury] in wonderful surroundings at the beautiful Bruny Island which is off the south-east of Tasmania. The trip was a gift from our Daughter and Son-in-Law; they had decided it was about time that we all had a "proper" family time together.

Daughter,son-in-law, four children and au-pair stayed in "The Lodge"................you can read all about it at the link............

and we stayed in "The Spa Cottage"..............all situated in 33 acres of peace.

The Spa Cottage at Adventure Bay Retreat is unrivalled when it comes to couples accommodation on Bruny Island. Nestled into a valley and screened away by woodlands you’ll find a striking retreat constructed from local timber and stone; here, you can rest in absolute privacy and luxury.

You can read/see the Spa Cottage at the link http://www.beautifulaccommodation.co...at-spa-cottage

    The atmosphere was great.

As we live up on the nort west coast of Tasmania we decided to stay overnight going to, and after leaving Bruny Island, so we stayed at the historic town of Ross [all old sandstone buildings]

Have a look at the "Miss Annies Room" in the house we stopped over in at Ross..............just go to the link............

So to conclude..we enjoyed a lovely break of five nights and six days.

Here is an old "Lonely Planet" video on Bruny Island.

Looks terrific Gordon but expensive :-( I'd want to go in summer. I've been to Tassie twice and both times it was in April and bloody cold!
