    Re: Invitation

    Greetings all –

This month has seen activity in three main areas – marketing, site planning, and preparation for an even more intense September.

On the marketing front, Anne, Lloyd, George Henderson and Rick & Liz Bailey have been representing us with a Fallbrook kiosk at a number of local market venues. This has yielded considerable interest, a lengthy petition list and some new supporting members. Our new brochure is now printed and available. Feel free to forward the attached copy to anyone you feel might be interested. It is a downsized file (under 400 KB) for this purpose so you don’t swamp your friends e-mail. Brother-in-law Chris Ireland will have the value of his layout and logo work registered as a “donation in kind” for our fundraising base and be recognized as a major contributor to the project.

We now have a good idea as to the size and shape of the area required to service the site, as I have contacted 8 suppliers and/or installers of geo-thermal heating systems and aerobic waste water systems for space requirements and approximate costs. We have been promoting the concept of the ’Fallbrook Green Technologies Initiative’ with suppliers to make the site a centre of knowledge for those interested in learning about environmentally friendly technologies. If we can gain some contributions, it will reinforce our fundraising and business plan.

September may well be a watershed month for Fallbrook. The most critical factor is our request, now before the Ontario Heritage Trust, to assume ownership of the property. In addition to this we are preparing a business plan to go before Halton Hills Council, reviewing the Trillium grant application process and, as you know, becoming incorporated through the Ontario Heritage Society on Sept. 8.

The agenda for Sept. 8 is attached. I’m sure treasurer Lloyd will be pleased to accept memberships before the meeting to accommodate voting members who have not yet registered, or those who might wish to up-grade their supporting memberships. (Membership information is in the attached brochure) Anne is issuing formal invitations, and the easiest way to RSVP is to reply directly to her. In any case don’t forget to reply because we want ample food.

Hope to see you at the Fad 11;00 Sept. 8

    Regards - Bill
