I wanted to go and had plans on it, but wound up not feeling well.
Now am really bummed out! I could have met up with some of you after all these years!

I just got out of the Hospital yesterday.

    We have next year though!!!!!

      Re: Scottish American Foundation

Alastair I noticed that there was a Review of Homecoming Scotland 2009 and wondered what the opinions were?

Also, there was mention Sir Walter Scott and Robert Burns at: http://www.visitscotland.org/default.aspx?page=1049 Hopefully the new "boss" will sweep clean.

Scotland needs to promote St Andrews Day and other anniversaries more in other countries to attract visitors; perhaps this is beginning:
      St Andrew’s Day Festival Ayrshire November 26 2010 - November 30 2010
Across Ayrshire. Celebrate St Andrews Day in Ayrshire with this five day festival of activity. Highlights include The Battle of Rullion Green re-enactment, the Mini Tattoo, ‘The Great Tartan Turnoot’ (a uniquely quirky event of tartan and St Andrew’s merchandise), and ‘A Taste of Ayrshire’, the brand new food festival with an emphasis on seafood.

I'm hoping to talk to Alan Bain shortly about helping him promote Scotland in the USA. We'll see what happens.
