    I have been watching a BBC repeat series, The History of Maths ( a 4 part series), by Oxford Professor Marcus du Sautoy.

    Last night was mainly China, and going back several thousand years, showing their fascination with numbers. Oddly enough they never had zero !

    One section mentioned than an Emperor saw a turtle that came out of the river, and stopped before him. On its back were the numbers 1 to 9 in the form of a cube (scan attached).

    No matter which way the rows or diagonals are added they all equal 15 !

    There is a dvd available, but the cost is about £20+ which I think is too much.
