I might also add they might also be good for those driving on sand as we used to do in Kuwait.

Although I understand they can be used on non snow roads, but with great care in driving.... this may not be the case

I am advised by a user that after use in snow, traffic both moving and some stationary, did not permit him to stop.

Even after driving at very low speed, then stopping to remove the sock, it was found to have received a fair bit of damage. By no means destroyed.

I was not there, and can only go on what I was told.

An interesting point, but we will have to wait and see if any other users, encounter the same problem.
