    Edinburgh 1745

    Hi there, I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good site for unearthing information about who made up the city council in 1745 and or anything relating to businesses/personalities of the time. Any help at all would be much appreciated.

    Got a couple of books on the site...

    Kay's Edinburgh Portraits
    A Series of Anecdotal Biographies chiefly of Scotchmen Mostly by James Paterson and Edited by James Maidment (1885) in 2 volumes.
