  • Bit of an update

I noticed I had neglected to advise what's new on Electric Canadian so this is to rectify my oversight.

I've started to add content on a daily basis much like I do on Electric Scotland. So when I start on a new book I post up a chapter per day until complete and then start on another book.

I started this with "Ten Thousand Miles Through Canada" The Natural Resources, Commercial Industries, Fish and Game, Sports and Pastimes of the Great Dominion by Joseph Adams. You can read this book at http://www.electriccanadian.com/life...0000/index.htm

Then I am currently working on "Forrest Life in Acadia" Sketches of Sport and Natural History in the lower Provinces of the Canadian Dominion by Captain Campbell Hardy (1869). This can be read at http://www.electriccanadian.com/hist...rest/index.htm

I also found "The Four Kings of Canada" BEING A Succinct Account of the Four Indian Princes lately arriv’d from North America. with A particular Description of their Country, their strange and remarkable Religion, Feasts, Marriages, Burials, Remedies for their Sick, Customs, Manners, Constitution, Habits, Sports, War, Peace, Policy, Hunting, Fishing, Utensils belonging to the Savages, with several other Extraordinary Things worthy Observation, as to the natural or curious Productions, Beauty, or Fertility of that Part of the World.

This is an old book printed in 1710. Such is the date that at this time the letter s was printed as the letter f and so it may be a wee bit challenging to read but I think well worth the effort. However given the challenges this book provided from an ocr'ing point of view I just decided to make it available as a pdf file.

You can read this book at http://www.electriccanadian.com/hist.../fourkings.htm

You can of course see what's going up each day by visiting the What's New page at http://www.electriccanadian.com/whatsnew.htm
