You have to 'mask' your location. There are several options available, apparently. BBC tries to block all access from outside UK. It annoys me because I pay for the licence so do not see why I cannot access legally when I am travelling. They should be able to 'tie' my licence to my machine's unique idea, but that seems to be beyond their understanding.

I don't have it but when I did it still gave me the problem of this program isn't available in your country.

Can you get BBC iPlayer? If you can then the whole thing will be on there.

The Edinburgh display was quite spectacular, but just a bit too long for me,
I am guessing that you were watching BBC World News.

I was watching BBC News and saw a wee bit of the fireworks in New Zealand, Australia, London and other countries but no Scotland. Sad! I also went onto the Internet and again didn't see any mention of Scotland.
