    I just need to brush up! We are going to have folks from every part of Scotland and England at Gael's Fire! I hope I can understand those from Glasgow!

      I don't think the young ones today speak much Scottish (Glasgow) dialect. They probably still know most of it though. Like most other countries in the world Scotland has become more international.

      Words, like most things, fall in and out of fashion. I remember when I first came to Australia in 1971 it amused me no end that they still called underskirts petticoats here and dresses were still frocks :smile:. I remember when I was a child it was a petticoat and a frock but that was in the 1950's.
